About Us
Shady Grove is one of four elementary schools within the nationally recognized Wissahickon School District. Our school serves approximately 700 students in grades K-5. We are proud to provide a respectful, caring school community with a focus on academic excellence and high expectations for all students to meet or exceed established standards of achievement.
Shady Grove Fun Facts
Did you know Shady Grove has a host of great events for students and families each year including:
- International Night: SGE's diverse school community celebrates 20+ different cultures with games, food and other activities
- Heroes Luncheon: local police, EMTs, firefighters and other first responders attend a luncheon with students
- Shady Grove Showdown: 5th graders compete against SGE staff in the annual basketball game (turned kickball)
- Harvest Fest: a festive fall celebration held in partnership with our Home and School Association
- Veterans Day: family members who serve(d) in the military and all veterans are honored by our school community with a big celebration
- Math Night: games and activities organized by our 5th grade teachers
- Gingerbread Baking Fundraiser: 5th graders make and decorate gingerbread cookies to benefit a charity
No Place for Hate
All six Wissahickon schools are proud to be designated as No Place for Hate for the 2024-2025 school year. This incredible achievement reflects the unwavering commitment of our building leaders, students, and staff to fostering inclusive and welcoming environments.
